Navigating Mental Well-being: A Comprehensive Guide to Mental Health First Aid Training
Approx 25% of the UK population will encounter mental health issues at some point in their lives. Although most cases are mild, short-term, and often treatable with therapy and medication, the problem remains significant. Mental Health First Aid equips individuals with the skills to identify and support those facing mental health challenges or exhibiting signs of substance use in the workplace. Participants learn how to connect these individuals with appropriate assistance from colleagues, community resources, or healthcare professionals.
The course begins by introducing the topic and highlighting the advantages of Mental Health First Aid and workplace wellness initiatives. It then delves into the impact of stress on individuals and teams, emphasising the link between stress and mental health.
Furthermore, the course explores the responsibilities of employers, managers, and employees in ensuring the success of a Mental Health First Aid program. It concludes with practical examples of applying mental health first aid to real-life situations, supporting employees experiencing mental health issues, and guiding them towards additional help and advice.
