Now, let’s delve into the meaning of ‘Substances Hazardous to Health’. From a legal standpoint, these substances are classified as “very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive, or irritant” according to the Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (CLP). This regulation was introduced in January 2009 and aligns with a set of regulations known as REACH. REACH, which came into force on 1st June 2007, is a European Union regulation that focuses on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals. One of the primary objectives of REACH is to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment from the usage of chemicals.
