We are seeking an ambitious Junior Consultant who can make a valuable contribution to our Planning and Permitting team. Your new role
As our Junior Consultant, you will be a key asset to the team by submitting necessary permit applications and supplying accurate environmental data for our customers.
To help you confidently adapt and problem-solve, we have established various support teams. Among others – these include compliance, health and safety, administration and sales. Together, we work as a team to reach our goals. In addition to your support crew, you will also have access to a variety of software and systems. Asana, MyCompliance and PeopleHR to name but a few. All are designed with the goal of assisting you in project management, compliance and monitoring.
Day-to-day, you will be using our support systems to help you work towards your goals. Some of the tasks you will be undertaking as a Junior Consultant will include:
- Draft informative documents and reports to aid the environmental application process.
- Proficient in recognising client concerns, comprehending legal requirements and conveying this information efficiently to both colleagues and clients.
- Use geographic information systems (GIS) to visualize and analyse spatial data. Your work here will help the Planning and Permitting team study the environmental impacts of commercial activities.
- Undertake contaminated land investigations, desk studies and preliminary risk assessments.
- Undertake environmental monitoring.
- Supporting other Consults to undertake ecological surveys, site compliance audits, construction quality assurance at waste and recycling sites.
- The successful candidate will be given every support and experience to progress, with the expectation that they rapidly promote to more senior role.

Requirements
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience of working or volunteering in a related field.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desired
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry or equivalent.
- Familiarity with GIS mapping software.
- Membership of CIWM, IEMA or relevant professional body.

- Salary range is £26,000 – £30,000 and will reflect the knowledge, skills and experience which you can bring to Wiser Environment.
- Starting annual holiday entitlement of 28 days (inclusive of bank holidays, that increases annually to a maximum of 30 days. NB annual leave increases with promotion to more senior roles.
